DRAIN FIELD
REPAIRED!
During the
months of February and March, GMSA was blessed by Nobleman's Plumbing's
customers, friends and family in the repairing of three drain fields on
the farm. The Layman's, all five of us, spent six weeks with the drain
field project in mind, along with supporting the ministry in South
Africa. We paid for all our expenses but we felt a need to ask others
to partner with us in supplying the needed plumbing material in order to
fix the collapsed drain fields. We had asked others to sow a seed of
faith with us and see what God would do. The hoped for dollar amount
did not come in, but with God it was just enough! We prayed that God
would stretch the money and bring us materials for free and give us
favor with the businesses involved in supplying the materials needed.
That is exactly what happened! The American dollar went up
during our visit, free rock was given for the foundation
layer of the piping and a local business in Humansdorp
consistently lowered their prices. Praise God!
After
tackling the drain field project for a solid four weeks, Johnny was able
to attend to other plumbing issues on the farm which in the long run,
ends up saving the farm a considerable amount of outgoing expenses.
One
favorite outreach for us was working at the Creche, which is a day care
for children ages five and under. Strategy was given in a very tangible
way in how to help them with germ safety and how to better improve the
conditions they work under and make them more sanitary. As a follow up,
some of the business owners in the community and GMSA, will help to
provide continued training and resources needed to increase their
awareness of the importance of a clean and safe environment for these 70
plus children enrolled in the day care.
Although
our focus was plumbing and outreach, relationship building was the
biggest thrill and gift given and received. Many evenings were spent
one on one with individual families, just enjoying each other's company
and sweet fellowship. The Kingdom of God is wonderful and the family
just keeps growing and growing.
We thank
God for all our brothers and sisters in South Africa and can't wait to
see them again.
