June 28, 2006 Marshall and Martha - HIV/AIDS Ministry Leaders
Let me introduce you to Marshall and
Martha. Marshall is 31, Martha is 26. They are a lovely young couple
with plans to marry 23 of September 2006. They have been engaged for well
over 1 1/2 years now. (See wedding picture below.) They are both awesome leaders in our church.
Marshall is very pastoral and very loving and caring toward the people.
Martha is a young fireball, and worship leader, she is a beautiful and
gifted young leader. She is also very good with people. Marshall and
Martha have served Storehouse church and Dallas and me with all of their
hearts since we began the church. They have worked very hard and have
never asked for anything.
Now they are working very hard to be able
to get married. Martha works in clothing/tourist shop where she makes
about R2000 ($350 Dollars) per month. Marshall has submitted his
business plan for funding for a new business he has begun. They are
really pressing in faith to move forward and to apprehend the blessing
of God. It has been difficult though. Many couples give up on getting
married and just live together here because the financial pressure is
too overwhelming for them to pursue marriage. The economic injustice
the black and mixed race (colored) people have suffered is very real,
and most of them are still under that heavy oppression of poverty. Most
of them do not have driver's licenses (because they can't afford it),
and hardly any of them own cars. A lot of people are barely surviving.
As a ministry and church, we are constantly ministering to people in this area of breaking the spirit of poverty and seeing them released in the blessing and abundance of God for their lives. This has been a real war but we are making some progress. Marshall and Martha are the first fruits of this, but they need more prayer and support to really break through. I submit them to you and ask you to be praying for them. Consider them a couple needing a special blessing to start their new life together.
