June 2008 Ps. Dallas Hello family and friends, Wow, 2008 has been quite a year so far! Full of great expectations and also a year with a lot of pain and challenges. The whole world seems to be in upheaval of one sort or another. On the homefront we've had our difficulties this year but Jody and I are doing very well at this time, and our kids as well. Our 4 teenagers are seeking God and all 6 of our kids are being drawn into God's presence and worship in our corporate services. Its really precious, something very special is happening. Joe and Natalie are looking into college correspondence courses and Sus is hunting for ways to make some extra money. Ty is catching up with Joe in the tallness category and he has been able to get back into piano lessons, he's very motivated and loving it. Bo is also getting tall and eating tons and is reading a new bible we got him for his birthday. The questions from Bo are; who was Cain's wife, how did he build cities, where is the land of Nod, what does circumcision mean, and so forth! He asked his sister Sus that last question but she declined to answer and sent him to mom and dad. We are about ready to send him to the apostle! Des is going to be in charge of something big one day, he constantly needs reminded he is the youngest and not in charge of the rest of us, or the rest of the world for that matter. Regarding my sister Deena's battle with cancer. A few weeks back the doctors found that the cancer had entered her brain. They started her on chemo and other things and it seemed the cancer had slowed down or stopped spreading. But recently they discovered it had moved into her liver and they had to stop the chemo. They sent her home to spend time with her family. This has been a very painful journey and we are so very thankful for all your prayers and support. Please keep praying with me and my family for Deena. We are really encouraged by the miracle testimonies of others we've met and we hope and pray for a miracle for Deena. Please pray she will open her heart wide, wide, wide to Jesus and cry out to Him to come in and take over! We rebuke all fears that have assaulted her over these many years, may God grace her with the ability to totally give in and give over to Him. I love her very much. In our church, 'Storehouse', we are
experiencing some very awesome things lately as God is really moving in our
services and doing deep stuff in peoples lives, especially the youth. There is
so much pain, hurt, injury, and emptiness inside of people that all of us really
need a sovereign and supernatural move of God in our lives. We are all such
fragile clay pots, full of cracks, we desperately need to be filled with His
life and light. The brokenness of peoples lives is so deep, widespread, and
corporate, it blankets this nation and the continent. The ministry God has
assigned us to carry out is valuable and precious, but over the years the
journey with the broken brings out your own brokenness and inability to change
things without His sovereign acts. You come to a place in God of desiring to
reside at the well and for people to be able to come to the well and just be
immersed in the depths. And God's timing, its amazing what He is doing right now
in our midst because of the outbreak of xenophobia and Zimophobia in violence
around I will be sending you all a special update on Blessings, |
