Ministry OverviewDisaster Relief: Fires in the townships are an ongoing plague because of the crowded living conditions. Relief of every kind is needed since families lose everything in the shack fires. We are helping gather resources, rebuild, and give out food, clothing, etc.Soccer Teams: Currently GMSA has two soccer teams, coached and mentored by Carlos Jones. Through soccer and other activities Carlos shares Christ with the young men, and teaches them life and leadership skills. Several of the young men have asked Carlos to disciple them. Ministry to the Poor: God has called us to partner with the poor. We are serving and meeting a variety of practical needs in people’s lives, but more than that, we are building friendships and long-term relationships with many precious people. The large home on the base is regularly used to bless and serve people. Many of these people have never sat at a table with white people, or been in a white person’s home. Teaching and Preaching: Our strength is activating individuals into their dreams, destiny and relationship with God. Pastor Dallas and Jody are ministering in a variety of churches, youth rallies, tent crusades and schools. Mentoring and Discipling: The team is continually ministering to the individual lives of many young men and women, young married couples, and older people. There is a great hunger among the people to be mentored and taught the ways of God. Business Training: Thus far, we have hosted two project management workshops, taught by Jim Anderson of Spokane, WA, and have assisted two groups of black farmers in writing their business plans. Children’s Ministry: God has connected us with the local child welfare department which is run by a group of Christian ladies. It has been a great door of service and ministry to children and we have the liberty to develop new programs based on the resources of our team. Youth Leader Mentoring: We have been able to come alongside young leaders to assist and encourage them. Hosting Mission Teams: In the first year, we have hosted 64 short and long-term visitors. Lives have been touched, changed, inspired, and renewed as people have come to see God moving to restore a nation of people. Serving Community Leaders: We have availed ourselves to the municipality and the mayor, offering and providing services, as needed, disaster relief help being one area. High School: Currently, we have an open door and ongoing ministry in 4 local high schools, comprising over 4000 black, colored, and white students. The students are very open and responsive. In a particular youth rally of 800 students, over 150 responded to the altar call. Pastor Dallas has been asked to help develop student leaders and to equip Christian teachers. Assisting Churches: God is opening many churches to the prophetic, teaching, and marketplace ministries of Pastor Dallas and Jody. They have been able to come along-side the local church leadership to support and encourage them and to bring a fresh impartation of the Spirit of God to the church. Many African churches have become steeped in religious tradition and need to experience God’s grace and reformation. This is a relevant and critical ministry to the African church in this hour |
