This is Brenda Gulwa.  Brenda is a home-based caregiver based at the clinic in Jeffrey's Bay just 10 km from our ministry base.  We first met Brenda when she started attending our church a year and a half ago.  After her first visit, she told Dallas and me she wanted to make Storehouse her church. 

Dallas expressed interest in Brenda's work, and asked her if it would be possible for us to pray for her patients.  Brenda was very excited about that.  As a result, we now spend every Thursday bringing sick people out to our ministry base for lunch, worship, and prayer, or visiting them in their homes to pray for them.  Almost all of the patients Brenda has are HIV positive.

We call Brenda our angel.  This is why.  Brenda has been working at this very difficult and draining job for about 6 years now.  She goes to people's homes, cares for them, bathes them, gives them meds, etc.  She has been with many people who have died.  She has cried many tears over these people, and continues to cry each time we pray for her patients she truly loves.  Brenda's salary comes from the government.  It is supposed to be R600 per month (about $100).  However, over the past few years, Brenda has rarely been paid, sometimes only a couple times a year.  But still Brenda continues to care.  Many times, she has no food, and no money.  But she continues to care for her people.  She lives in a shack with no running water or electricity, but still she continues to care.  She has to walk a lot to go anywhere, but she keeps on. 

What we would like to do:  We would like to have Brenda keep doing what she's doing, working for the clinic, in the homes.  But we would like to be able to pay her a salary from our ministry.  Brenda says she needs R1000 per month, but we would like her to be blessed more than that.  We would like to be able to pay Brenda R1800 per month which is about $300.  Even with that, it would not be an excessive income, but she would be able to eat and spend a little something on herself from time to time.

It would be an awesome thing to be able to empower this angel to continue this effective work of her heart!!!!!
